It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother.  Carol Ann Steele, age 73 was born in Queens, New York on May 28, 1950. She passed away suddenly on June 15, 2023.

Carol leaves behind her two daughters Kimberly Lee (husband David) and Vanessa Kuncze (husband James); and four grandchildren Sydney, Izzy, Aidan and Connor. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Marilyn Jansen, brothers William and James Jansen, and son Sean Heaver.

Carol was retired from the airline food industry.  She was a leader of Quality Control for the Flying Food group.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, entertaining, sewing and gardening.  She volunteered weekly at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens. Her favorite past time was spending time with her family (and making lists were a close second.)

Her sweet smile, huge heart, great big hugs and kisses will be greatly missed. She was a survivor who “fought the good fight” and is now at peace with the Lord.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 10 am at the Saint Martin of Tours in Bethpage, NY. The funeral will immediately follow at the Cemetery of the Holy Rood in Westbury, NY.
