Carol's obituary

Carol Darlene Sharp, a compassionate soul who dedicated her life to serving others, passed away on Thursday, July 20th, 2023, surrounded by family. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, educator, and a true friend to all who knew her.

Carol was blessed with twin sons, Bryan and Jesse, who were the joy of her life. She was extremely proud of her boys and spent her retirement enjoying time with them and their families; Bryan and Pam Sharp with their children Emily, David and Katie, and Jesse and Tanya Sharp with their children Ayden and Sam. Carol’s love lives on through them and her great-grandchildren Peter, Thomas, and Gianna. Carol will be missed by many more, but especially Bob Kunst and George Meuth.

A lifelong advocate for children's welfare, Carol's heart was always filled with warmth and compassion for those in need. She had a natural ability to connect with others offering them guidance, understanding, and a sense of belonging.

Carol devoted her life to children, protecting their lives and providing care and support through her work with the Florida Department of Child and Family Services where she twice received commendations for extraordinary effort in the protection of endangered children. Her passion for education led her to pursue a master's degree in the field as a special education teacher where Carol continued to make a positive impact on countless young lives.

She had many passions, but one of her greatest was her love for travel. From Africa to England, a semester of study at Oxford, Scotland, Ireland, Italy, China, the Galapagos, and beyond, she reveled in the beauty and diversity of the world, finding joy in experiencing different cultures and landscapes.

Carol found solace and wonder in the natural world, and her love for animals was evident in the way she cared for and respected them. Flowers could always bring a smile to her face, and she encouraged those around her to take a moment and stop and smell the roses as she did many times throughout her life.

As we bid farewell to Carol Darlene Sharp, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and devotion to others. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and service that will continue to inspire generations to come.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.
