Ann's obituary
With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Carol "Ann" Royal, who departed this life on June 28, 2023. Born on March 2, 1939, Ann was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend whose articulate, smart and friendly personality touched the lives of many.
Ann is survived by her children Valerie Lesly and Don Shaw, her daughter-in-law Veronica Shaw, her grandsons Hayes Lesly, Taft Lesly, Pierce Lesly and Max Shaw, and her granddaughters Kaci Bryan, Taylor Ernst and Madeline Shaw. She was predeceased by her parents Ted and Roberta Royal, her brother Gary Royal, her son Scot Shaw, her granddaughter Zoe Lesly and her husband Paul Ramirez.
Throughout her life, Ann's favorite activities were spending time with her grandchildren and children, dining out, and enjoying an occasional Margarita. She was a history buff and loved reading. She enjoyed a hot game of Canasta, and was a devoted fan of musicians like George Jones, Willie Nelson and Garth Brooks.
Ann spoke often of her favorite places, Maui and San Francisco. And let's not forget the time spent cheering for the UT Longhorns.
Passionate about causes such as the Survivors of Suicide, Ann leaves behind a legacy of love. The wisdom she imparted, emphasizing that the real problems in life only exist when our loved ones are not safe and healthy, will forever be cherished. Known for raising three great human beings and for her unwavering loyalty, Ann's accomplishments will continue to inspire.
Instead of flowers, the family asks kindly for donations to be made to the "American Foundation for Suicide Prevention" or the "American Cancer Society" in Ann's honor. You can make a contribution at the following web addresses: https://everloved.com/life-of….
