Carol Louise Herb Richards, aged 78, passed away June 14, 2024 in Knightdale, NC due to complications from Cardiopulmonary Disease. Carol was preceded in death by her husband George and sister Nancy. She is survived by sister Patricia, daughters Allison (Sherman Lee) and Lauren (John Haynes), grandchildren (Gabrielle, Jonas, Mackenzie, Shepard, Delaney, and Eleanor), and dog Nixnutz. Born August 16, 1945 in West Reading, PA, Carol completed schooling and moved to Philadelphia for work. She then lived most of her life in Raleigh, NC. Carol enjoyed talking on the phone with her sisters, watching Hallmark Channel Christmas movies, and all things quilt-related. Carol loved listening to Michael Buble's music, and re-watching Top Gun Maverick, her favorite movie of all time. Her dogs and her birds were very precious to her. Carol was most generous, sharing her time in the service of others. She supported her church, working behind the scenes, and then cared full-time for her husband in his later years. Of the many charitable organizations Carol supported, PulmonaryFibrosis.org was the most meaningful, as her husband passed from the disease. Please consider paying respects at Grace Lutheran Church’s columbarium, where Carol is interred with her husband George. She is loved and especially missed on this day, what would have been her 79th birthday.
