Grandma Carol

Your smile was made of sunshine, Your heart was solid gold, Your eyes were bright as shining stars, A beauty to behold.

The wealth of the world could not compare, To the love you gave so free, For l was richer than all the rest— I had you to read to me.

Now peacefully you've gone to rest, Your work on earth is done, Your spirit lives in all of us, And shines in everyone.

Though heaven holds you gently now, Your love will see us through, Forever in our hearts you'll stay, Forever, Grandma, we'll think of you.

Carol was always so gentle and loving. She also had a beautiful soul. I’m grateful I got to know her. Goldie Augustmoon

Every time I see Carol even in my dreams, She is teaching me something New.. or how to better handle A situation without getting upset...calming . For me Carol showed  Strength ,Kindness, love. I miss her and will carry her in my heart forever. So  Sorry Family.....
I remember seeing the Q family in the back of the church on the first Sunday they attended FCCO. I immediately recognized Joe from many talks with him whilre I was student teaching at VPHS. It was a pleasure getting to know all of the family. I had Carol Jo and Allan as a long term sub. My greatest memory of Chris was her walking in to a class I was teaching and I thought she was Carol and couldn’t figure out why she was there.
I remember many camping trips with the camping group, potlucks, campfires, nature and good times.
My wife, Constance and I introduced Carol and Joe to First Christian Church under the ministry of Jay Calhoun.  Carol quickly became a friend and when their son died, the friendship blossomed into a life-long relationship of love, support and mutual admiration between our families as our children grew together and our faith deepened.
In the late 1980's, when John Smith was serving as our minister, a group of couples decided to stay in a large cabin in the woods near Idyllwild, CA.  During the evening after a bit of wine, Carol and an accomplice snuck upstairs to the room occupied by John and and his wife.  After short-sheeting the bed, they hurried downstairs giggling and Carol was barely to contain her excitement.  Carol was well behaved most of the time, as would be expected for a piano teacher.  However, like most of us, she did enjoy a good joke and some occasional mischievous fun.  That is one of the things we will all greatly miss.

Our condolences to Carol's family. Carol was a dear friend of ours along with Joe. We shared many activities including Mary's Kitchen, PAL Group, small group ministries, family camp, retreats, Leadership Board, Wednesday Breakfast, Knitting Group, camping group and so many more. One of our favorite memories is attending two Beach Boys concerts with Joe and Carol. We had so much fun singing and rocking out with them.  We miss her terribly but will always cherish these memories.

I have known Carol for many wonderful years through happiness and sadness. We camped with them, shared times when Johnathan and Jordan were so close as best friends, and times when we were in the same groups. She was a model in all that she did, and I hope I can  her in my relationship with all my friends and acquaintances.
As a new member I was welcomed by Carol & Joe, in choir & by offering rides to musical events. Carol was a loving, cheerful friend.
Our family is gathering here in Minnesota to watch together, then have “happy hour” for dinner (a camping group tradition). Afterward we will sit around the campfire and share Carol stories while sipping some Carolans Irish Cream. We might even get in a few hands of Dwindle Bridge. Sooooo many memories! 💔 Love to all of Carol’s family and friends.
