Carol's obituary

Carol Virginia Price passed away and joined her loving and devoted husband, Calvin Lang Price (1931-2018), on August 14, 2023 at her home in Carmichael California. She was diagnosed with breast cancer 64 days earlier on June 13 at age 87.

Carol was born in Ogden Utah to Earl and Lucille Brown. Her family moved to Sacramento when she was young, and there she grew up with her sister Joan (Ackley) and brother Dale Brown. Carol enjoyed school and preferred to earn her way, which enabled her to attend BYU and provided some of her most beloved memories. She also attended San Francisco State when her family relocated to San Bruno. Carol met Calvin at church in Sacramento and the two were married in 1957. They were married for 61 years before Calvin passed and had lived a full and happy life together, raising 4 children in the house he built and the home she nurtured. They had 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

An avid reader (an original member of the Bonnie Coop book group for 40 + years) and swimmer, Carol also loved tennis and all things sweet. Carol's real and abiding passions were her family and friends. She sought to instill in her children a commitment to family and friends and a love of the Savior Jesus Christ. Carol was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served with all her heart equally in every calling, large or small. Carol was our biggest cheerleader, our constant supporter, and emphatic grammar corrector.

Carol is survived by her children, Michael Price (Laurel Jenks), their 5 children, and 7 grandchildren; Jeff Price (Isabella Alasti), his 2 daughters, and their sister and her daughter; Joanna Price, her three daughters, and 3 grandchildren; Julie Gwynn (Tom), their 6 children, and 5 grandchildren. Also by her brother Dale Brown (Heidi) and her brother-in-law David Ackley.

A small intimate memorial will be held.
