Carol's obituary

Carol Gay Murray, 88 of Plainfield, IL left this life to enter eternal rest on June 5th 2024, surrounded by her family in the comfort of her own home.

Carol is survived by her two children, Scott and Debby, 3 grandchildren, Ambrielle, Stephanie and Melissa, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. She is also survived by her brother Craig and her sister Nanci and Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

As Administrative Director of Raggedy Anne Learning Center ( Elmhurst, IL) for 50 years, Carol touched the lives of many. She was a compassionate inspiration to her staff, students and community, encouraging them to persue their dreams with courage and confidence. Her strong Christian faith was a guiding light to how she lived her life. Carol enjoyed reading, attending numerous concerts, people watching and enjoying nature while sitting beneath the pergola in her back yard with her beloved pup, Alfie. She never missed watching her granddaughter dance and became “ grandma” to all who knew her and she loved her children and grandchildren with a fierceness that never ended.

Always young at heart, Carol was unstoppable and ready to take on the next adventure despite the challenges her body began to give her. She never held back when expressing her spunky, stubborn self and her beautiful smile could make your day better just by seeing it. Carol will be desperately missed by all those she has left behind and has left an unfillable hole in our hearts.

Friends are invited to join us to celebrate Carol’s life and share their fond memories at a Memorial service at Plainfield United Methodist Church on June 15th 2024 at 11:00 am with a luncheon to follow. 15114 S Illinois St Plainfield,IL 60544 815-436-9651
