Carol's obituary
Carol Sue Genser Cox, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away
peacefully on December 25, 2024, in Lakewood, Colorado. Born on February 20, 1958,
in Monowi, Nebraska, Carol lived a life filled with love and compassion that touched the
hearts of everyone she met.
She leaves behind her two cherished daughters: Michelle Jones and Stephanie Cox.
Her legacy continues through her granddaughters Kaila Milliron and Javen Jones;
grandson James Jones; and great-granddaughter Malaysia. Carol is also survived by
her loving sisters Karen Kelly and Joyce Bleim; brothers Larry Genser and Bruce
Genser; along with many nieces and nephews.
Though she often claimed not to be an animal lover, Carol had a remarkable ability to
attract strays—both furry friends in need of care as well as people seeking comfort.
Known affectionately in her community as "Mama Carol," she embodied gentleness and
kindness. Whether it was through taking in lost animals or offering support to those
around her during difficult times, Carol's nurturing spirit made an indelible mark on all
who knew her.
A talented crocheter and seamstress with a green thumb for gardening, Carol found joy
in creating beauty both inside the home and out among nature’s bounty. Her hands
crafted not only beautiful items but also lasting connections within the community—a
testament to how deeply she cared for others.
As we mourn the loss of this extraordinary woman who has now joined her husband
Jeffrey Cox and two brothers, Michael Genser and Keith Genser in the afterlife, we
celebrate the profound impact she had on our lives. A Celebration of Life service will be
held on what would have been her birthday—February 20— At The Chilson Center 700
E 4th St, Loveland Colorado From 4pm to 7pm.
In remembering Carol Sue Cox (Genser), let us carry forward her legacy of love by
embracing one another just as she embraced us all—with open arms full of
compassion.
