Carmen's obituary
Carmen Nelson, 69, of Marysville, WA, peacefully passed away on October 10, 2021, surrounded by loved ones, after a difficult battle with cancer.
Carmen was born on March 2, 1952 to Jose Navarro and Guadalupe Abreu in bustling Mexico City.
Carmen worked for many years as a certified medical assistant. She was a devoted and loving mother to her children Christina and Jordan. Carmen was passionate about Reiki and achieved the certification of Reiki Master. She also became a certified minister to officiate the wedding of her close friends Timm and Marty. Carmen also enjoyed thrift shopping, traveling, going to local markets and festivals, cooking, and the great outdoors.
Carmen was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Chuy Navarro de León. She is survived by her daughter, Christina Ochoa, her son, Jordan Navarro, sisters Edith Abreu, Yolanda Navarro, and Alicia Navarro de Maciell, brothers José Navarro Abreu, Francisco Navarro Ceja, and Carlos Navarro.
Services will be held at Thornton A. Sullivan Park on Saturday, October 30th at noon. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to help her family cover the costs of funeral and memorial expenses.
