Carmen's obituary
In Loving Memory of Carmen Rosa Arroyo
July 13, 1934 – December 6, 2024
With heavy hearts and boundless love, we honor the life and legacy of Carmen Rosa Arroyo, who passed peacefully in her sleep on the night of December 6, 2024. A woman of strength, grace, and unforgettable spirit, Carmen leaves behind a legacy woven with laughter, resilience, and deep devotion to family.
Born on July 13, 1934, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, Carmen was a bright light from the very beginning. As a young child, she migrated with her beloved mother to Brooklyn, New York, seeking new opportunities and a fresh start in a new land. Even at a young age, Carmen carried with her the warmth of her Puerto Rican roots, a culture that shaped her heart, her humor, and her unwavering sense of family.
In Brooklyn, Carmen would go on to meet the love of her life, Edward Arroyo, and together they created a beautiful life filled with love and laughter. Their firstborn, Joe Arroyo, brought them joy beyond measure. Their second son, Jeffrey Arroyo, was a cherished light who, though he passed before his 3rd birthday, forever remained in Carmen’s heart. During her pregnancy with Melisa Arroyo, the family made the move to California, where they continued to grow and later welcomed their youngest, Denny Arroyo.
Carmen was a radiant soul, a firecracker with a golden heart. She was nurturing, protective, and endlessly loving, with a playful sass that made everyone feel like family. Her quick wit, infectious laughter, and talent for storytelling could lift even the heaviest spirits. She was the kind of woman who could turn any moment into a memory, who made people feel better simply by being near.
To her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, she was the center of gravity, always there with open arms, a strong opinion, and a warm smile. Her presence brought comfort, her stories brought laughter, and her spirit brought life to every room she entered.
Carmen Rosa Arroyo was more than a mother, grandmother, or friend, she was a guiding light, a cherished matriarch, and the heartbeat of a family who adored her. Her memory lives on in every laugh she inspired, every lesson she taught, and every soul she touched.
May her beautiful spirit rest peacefully and continue to guide and protect us always.
