Carmelo Castro, 65, of Vineland, passed away on Sunday, January 17th, 2021. Carmelo was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico to the late Amelia and Ramon Castro. He lived in Vineland for the remaining 31 years of his life. He enjoyed Salsa music, playing the trumpet, cooking, and spending time with family.

Carmelo is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Irma Contreras. His daughter, Omayra Castro, step-children; Joel Sr., Jessica, and Josue Maldonado. He is also survived by 1 sister, and 1 brother, 11 grandchildren, Aisha, Michael, Joel Jr., Cassandra, Cristian, Heriberto Jr., Chris, Sarai, Yancris, Issaih, and Josue Jr, 3 great grandchildren; Zullyali, Zolanie, and Edwin Jr.

Services will be held at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Avenue on Monday, January 25th from 9:00am to 11:00am. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
