Carmela's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carmela Martinez, a beloved mother, sister, and friend. Carmela was born on January 1, 1967, and departed this world on May 2, 2023. A woman of strength, love, and kindness, her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Carmela is survived by her daughters, Amanda Lee, Wendy Arredondo-Camacho, Katrina Adkins and Courtney Young. Grandchildren, Julian, Adrianna, Skylor, Aleckzander, Shelly, Jaxon, Ariah, Lilly, and Luka.
She was predeceased by her father, Frank Hicks, and mother, Gladys Hicks. In addition, she leaves behind her brother, Greg Hicks.
Carmela earned her Associate of Arts degree from Saint Petersburg college, in 2019. This accomplishment was a great source of pride for her, and it showcased her determination and intellect. Carmela's caring, smart, thoughtful, and kind nature touched the lives of many and will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Some of Carmela's favorite simple pleasures in life included watching episodes of Dr. Who, reading a good book, appreciating the beauty of the color blue, and swimming.
Her greatest accomplishments and legacy lie not only in her achievements but also in the love, strength, and kindness she shared with her family and friends.
The loss of Carmela Martinez has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her. Her memory will live on through her family's strength and the valuable lessons she imparted.
