Carma's obituary
Carma was an incredible person, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend of everyone she knew. She never met a stranger, and few people across Northeast Oklahoma didn't have the pleasure of knowing her.
Carma touched the lives of those who knew her with her warm, caring spirit, iridescent personality, and willingness to help others whenever and wherever needed. She was very close to her family and was the lifeline of communication between relatives living down the street, across town, the next state over, and as far as the Hawaiian Islands.
Carma held many professions during her lifetime, such as professional house cleaning services, outstanding skills as a personal care aid, and the friendliest employee at the Western Sizzlin bakery in Muskogee, OK. She was a 1966 graduate of Gore High School.
Carma is preceded in death by her mother, Lucy Belle (Thomas) Ferguson, father, Boonie Callison, sister Linda Carol (Callison) Rosson, niece Tina Rachelle Marshall, and great-nephew Curtis Hunter Slawson. She is survived by her son, Stephen Smith, and wife Andrea of Muskogee, OK, granddaughters Cadence Abigail Smith and Alena Belle Smith, step-father JP Ferguson, sisters Ima Lou (Callison) Brewer of Pensacola, FL, June (Callison) Birdtail and husband George of Pooler, GA, Debbie (Ferguson) Dick and husband Jackie of Gore, OK, and Jayne (Ferguson) Dornan and husband Jeff of Gore, OK. She is survived by 7 nieces: Lynette Dause of Muskogee, OK, Donna Slawson of Pensacola, FL, Tracy Lynch of Fort Gibson, OK, Melissa (Missy) Noel of Claxton, GA, Tonya Birdtail of Pooler, GA, Rachel Pruitt of Webbers Falls, OK, and Amanda Dandridge of Warner, OK; and 2 nephews: James Johnson of Blackgum, OK and Nathan Ferguson of Jacksonville Beach, FL.
Per Carma's wishes, her ashes will be given to her son, and a portion will be scattered honoring her "Momma," Lucy Belle Ferguson, who is laid to rest at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery with a celebration of life ceremony.
