Two years later, I still hear stories about Carly regularly from her friends—stories about her honest and fun personality. It’s clear that she surrounded herself with people who really valued and loved her for who she really was, and that they still feel her loss every day.

Carly was kind.
Her dear neighbor on Market Street was the wonderful David Monk.
After his death, Carly came over to honor him and share some of his belongings. Â She helped me sort and organize while remembering David in a loving way. Â From then on, we were friends. Â I love her a lot.

I always admired her sense if adventure.  She often attended Burning Man festival.  In spite of our age difference, she was very easy to talk to. She understood my ideas when I asked for a unique hairstyle.Â
I will miss her so much but I feel blessed to have known her.

Carly was a beautiful soul. My two strongest memories are of the beautiful gap in her often-present smile, and of her being the most beautiful sleeper I've ever seen! She came to my house to watch Harry Potter movies with her beloved Johno. We ate and chatted, and she fell asleep under a cosy blanket. Looking over, she was so beautiful and so peaceful.Â
Johno and I commented on beatific she looked. We laughed at how we were NOT the same beautiful sleepers. It was a gift that she felt safe enough with us to sleep. It was a gift that even in sleep, her beautiful soul shone out. I treasure that memory of her.Â
I will always associate Carly with an enormous blue sky - the blue of her eyes, of Cowboy's eyes, of the photos she showed of her travels. I am sorry she is no longer with us in one sense, but I will find her beauty in the blue sky.Â

Carly had such a light about her that will never be matched. She had a wonderful way of making you feel special and safe. I will miss her smile and getting to see her silly flash sheets. Much love to the families impacted by her loss.Â

I am so very sorry to learn of Carly’s sudden passing.  It is a shock and it doesn’t make sense. Carly was lively and interesting and full of so many ideas and plans.  I only knew her through work — she cut my hair, beautifully, for 5-6 years until 2021.  She was professional yet fun and so caring.  She opened her new business with excitement and daring — at the start of Covid no less. She loved to share photos and pictures of Cowboy.  We shared camping and personal stories.  And she was very comforting to me during my aneurysm procedure in 2019.  May her family find comfort in loving memories of a talented and sweet woman.Â

Carly is a spirit unlike any other and I do not believe I will encounter another life force like her in this lifetime. I did not get to see her often but I’m so glad to have some great memories the past few years.
Carly was the best to talk to about life, aliens, the afterlife, religion, parallel universes, paradigm shifts, the most controversial topics possible because we could have the best friendly banter and I always learned so much from her. She had the most insightful thoughts and opinions and was amazingly well-read on everything she was passionate about.
My partner Greg reminded me how worldly she was and we were always in awe of all the places she would go and experience. It was always exciting to know I would get to see Carly and simply put, I loved her. And I love so many people that loved her endlessly.
This is totally a conversation I can see myself having with her- I am so sad that I will not see Carly again in this body and world but I trust that I will feel her spirit again and I trust she will be there in spirit for everyone and for those she loved so much. Â
