Carlos Earl Collins Jr(Known as JR Collins)
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carlos Earl Collins Jr. of Parrish, Florida, who passed away on September 27, 2022, at the age of 73,
JR was born the son of Carlos and Naomi Collins, October 11, 1948 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
JR married Joan White on October 11, 2008 and she survives.
JR loved old cars that he won trophies on. He was in the trucking business for 38 years and enjoyed redoing them and selling them.
JR had a great passion for taking old things and making them Better than new.
He enjoyed old classic country music and enjoyed watching his son Rodney and his band preform. He would sometimes sing a song or two with the band. JR loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed sprint car racing. He was loved by so many people because he never knew a stranger and was always the 1st to lend a hand to anyone in need.
JR is leaving behind 5 children & their spouses, Carla(Collins)Davin, Ellenton, Florida Ron (Sharon) Collins, Kokomo, Indiana Richard (Tracy) Collins, Ellenton, Florida, Rodney (Jennifer) Collins, Nashville Tennessee & Cassie (Jermiah) Bousum - Kokomo Indiana 2 step daughters. Amber(Ricky) Collins, Russiaville, Indiana and Lora Rivera Tampa, Florida.
JR leaves behind 26 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
JR also leaves behind 4 brothers, Homer(Cathy) Collins, Russiaville, Indiana.
Kenny(Becky) Collins, Walton, Indiana. Jimmy Collins, Nashville, Tennessee. Ricky(Beth) Collins of Young America, Indiana
2 sisters, Ann(Napoleon) Leal of Kokomo, Indiana and Carol(Chuck) Shoaf of Vero Beach, Florida.
Several nieces and nephews.
1 very special sister in law. Marcia Collins of Russiaville, Indiana.
JR had previously been married to Linda Collins Neal and they remained close friends.
JR was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Bradley Scott, a brother, Earl Collins and two great grandchildren, Neveah and Connor.
A celebration of JR’s life will be held on October 11, 2022 with Pastor Chad Collins officiating. Friends are welcome to visit with the family from 1:30pm to 3:30pm and funeral service will start at 3:30pm at Cross America 840 Daniel Dr, Kokomo, IN 46901.
After the service, everyone is welcome to join the family at The Kokomo Country Palace for a carry in dinner.
