Carlo's obituary

Carlo Armand Manke was a loving brother and son who was born in Houston, Texas on February 23, 1992. He has joined his mother and father in eternal peace approximately December 29th 2021 at the age of 30. He also unites with two of his best friends. He is survived by his only sister Cara Manke.

Carlo grew up with his family in Bellaire, Texas. He attended Condit Elementary School where he was in the Gifted and Talented program for academically exceptional children. He was very active in sports throughout his childhood and played on many teams. He loved to play basketball and soccer and did so for many years, winning many trophies with his team mates. He took Karate lessons at a very young age as well. Later he attended Pin Oak Middle School where he was active in band, opting to play the Saxephone because he had an interest in Jazz music. Carlo even taught himself to play guitar and was able to play some songs on the Piano as well. He could often be seen blasting music anywhere he could. He also had a passion to create music. He enjoyed remixing and slowing down songs using DJ software where he then posted them on YouTube where they can still be heard today. He had many inspirations including Muse, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Kid Cudi, Bass Nectar, Flux Pavillion, Marshmellow, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gorillaz, Nirvana, Linkin Park, Rebelution and many more. Carlo then attended Bellaire High School and graduated in May, 2009. He was well known by his peers and sister for his bold, funny, loud, and carefree yet large personality. Going into his senior year is when his personality truly shined and he gained a lot of confidence after an astonishing 100 pound natural weight loss. Needless to say, he was quite a popular and handsome guy that had many different friends towards the end of his high school career. Due to this, he loved to have fun, loved to meet new friends, loved to be out, and was always known as the life of the party for both good and bad reasons. Carlo became a very rebellious teenager and did not enjoy the last 2 years of high school very much apart from the social aspect. He struggled often to pass classes due to his defiance even though he was a highly intelligent young man who easily retained so much knowledge when he wanted to. Carlos mother, Juanita was diagnosed with cancer at age 58 in his sophmore year and was undergoing surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatments at MD Anderson. Her cancer relapsed 6 months later and she continued treatment during his senior year of high school, getting very sick. Around this time Carlo was involved in a very bad car accident as the passenger in his friends vehicle, requiring him to have lower back surgery. In addition to this stress, sadly, one of Carlos best friends passed away during this time and unfortunately this was all just the beginning of a dark path for Carlo.

After graduating high school, Carlo left his home in Pearland, Tx to begin school at Blinn in College Station, studying basic courses there. His mothers health declined as treatment was no longer working and tragically passed away in September, 2009, shortly after his move when he was 18 years old. This left Carlo and his 17 year old sister, Cara, devastated. Carlo was never able to recover from this event in his life, yet he continued to try. Carlo continued attending college courses while his father, Craig, moved to Hawaii shortly after his mothers death. After attending Blinn for a period of time Carlo then Moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to attend Louisiana State University.

Carlos father craig moved back to the mainland after two years of living in Kawaii, HI. After this, Carlo decided to come back to Houston to be closer to his father and sister.
