Carlene's obituary
Carlene “Lenebak” Kasara Richards, age 35 passed away May 14, 2023. She was born December 13, 1987 in Phoenix, AZ to her loving parents Dorothy and Everton Richards. Carlene attended Camelback High School and would go on to become a Licensed Massage Therapist.
For 15 years, Carlene worked primarily as a massage therapist. She was driven by a passion to help others and believed in healing the body and soul through the power of touch and food. Carlene was an amazing cook, she had a passion for cooking and she enjoyed sharing it most with those she loved. In her downtime she loved playing basketball, a hobby she picked up in high school. You couldn’t tell her she wasn’t fierce on the court. She loved her tea parties with Pappy and their yearly trip to La Jolla for the White Elephant Sale. You might hear someone refer to her as “Lenebak” and that’s because she was a lyricist. She only needed a good beat and a few seconds to bring the heat. She would say the following verse was her story, keeping God at the center of her heart always “You don't know my story, All the things that I've been through; You can't feel my pain, What I had to go through to get here, You'll never understand my praise, Don't try to figure it out; Because my worship is for real. I've been through too much not to worship Him.”
Carlene is survived by her wife Sloane, by her mother, Dorothy Richards, her father, Everton Richards, her sister Shereen Richards Fair, her brother and sister in law Kallimayor Richards and Freda Richards, stepchildren Kyle and Mia, nieces and nephews Amari, Zamir, Zion, Alana, Jasmine, Jade, Isaac, and Theo. Best friends, Jessica, LaVon, and Debora.
