Carla is my twin sister born 7 minutes before me. Like so many, we were born before the hour of 7 am at Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Pasco, Washington.
I can tell you my sister was very strong. The fact she had cerebral palsy was not a deterrent to her world.

She was a very stubborn soul, and went on to do everything she was told she couldn't. One example was riding a bike. Our father bought me, my brother, and Carla bikes. Schwinns, with banana seats and butterfly handle bars.
I bought my sweet sister a green cheater slick for her rear tire.
Those were the bomb back in the day, mid 60s.

Carla went in to do so many things, including raising two beautiful children. Her accomplishments exceeded mine.
I have a lot of respect for her, and admiration. She fully embraced her difficulties.
When I last saw her, she was peacefully asleep.
I kissed her forehead and told her I loved her.
I wanted to tell her thank you for being my twin. She will always be the rarest gem in my life.
