Thank you to everyone for your support and prayers during this difficult time when Mom is slowly journeying
towards the Heavens. We would love for you to post your favorite photos and/or memories about Mom/Carla on the memories tab of this memorial website as well as any good bye wishes. She has touched so many lives and is cherished by many.

This website is made in advance of mom's passing in hopes that friends and family will be able to share in this final portion of her life from a distance. We will show her bits and pieces of this site when appropriate and it will no doubt bless her and bring her comfort as she awaits her journey home.

We hope to keep adding to this page with updates on her health and passing as it unfolds to keep loved ones informed.

I have been reading mom the messages posted by loved ones. They are incredible and have all brought gentle, happy tears to her eyes. Thank you all so very much; all of your words are blanketing our sorrow with beauty and love.

Mom is sleeping much more now and in kind of a dream state most of the time. I often find her asleep with her fingers still on her cell phone writing strange messages. I hope you all can giggle at these messages instead of being concerned. If she’s messaging you that just means you’re on her heart. She is safe, loved and peaceful.

Mom got to be with all 3 of her children the last 3 days and had a surge of energy! We greatly enjoyed our time together and had an early Mother’s Day celebrating our special mom💕

Mom continues to get more confused, but is remaining in good spirits. Mom requires 24 hour care now to keep her safe and is enjoying her private caregivers overnight. Her niece Sonja is graciously coordinating her care now and spending time with her daily. Her birthday is tomorrow and she’s currently drinking some coffee and reading some beautiful cards that have been sent her way. Thank you! She is hopeful for a visit from her niece Jenny soon as well❤️ Thank you for all the prayers to keep her pain at bay!

It's been a rollercoaster few weeks, but mom keeps surprising us with her capacity for life. She is very much still living and this is quite difficult for her some days as she continues to say she's ready to go home. Her daily morphine intake is always increasing and she's having dementia type symptoms that are more pronounced in the afternoon/evening. Calling her during the morning is typically best although she often thinks the TV remote is her phone. Please reach out if you need help connecting with her.

Her caregivers overnight have worked out great and mom feels comfortable with them in her apartment and always available for her needs and safety. Our cousin Sonja has been an amazing help in daytime care along with organizing care for mom. Thank you!! The cost of nighttime care is taking its toll and we are asking for monetary help to keep her home as she wishes. Many people have reached out to us asking how to help ...thank you! My brothers and I agree having a less elaborate Celebration of Life and using a portion of the generous donations made on this site to assist her being cared for at home would best serve mom. Please reach out if you would prefer your gift to be used only for the service and we will make sure that happens...it will still be a beautiful celebration of a beautiful life...nothing can take that away!!

Mom stopped eating and drinking 3 days ago. She’s been mostly sleeping for her journey home. She is surrounded by loved ones as she peacefully waits to be guided to heaven.

Mom is ready to journey home now, most likely today. She is so very peaceful.
