2022, In Carla's dining room
April of 2022 we stopped to renew an old friendship

I have known Carla since we sang together in the Metropolitan Detroit Youth Chorus when we were in 9th grade. We were packing partners on the tour that we took with the Chorus that year. She was a good friend and we have managed to stay in touch over the years even though we've only seen each other face to face a couple of times during those years. I loved her dearly.
Chad and Kyle,
I don't know if you remember me. You and your mom came to visit us in Detroit when you were about 8 or 10. I have 3 sons, Steve, Nate & Brad, about your ages. You boys had a good time and it happened to be the week our church was having VBS, so you all went together. Then you 5 boys camped out together in 1 bedroom. All sleeping on the floor. I have good memories of that visit and each time I was able to get together with Carla, and I will miss her dearly. I know you do too and my heart hurts for you and the rest of the family. You will all be in our prayers.

I am so sorry and still in shock over this news. I was texting with Carla the morning of the day she died. She was being my cheerleader as I had just shared the news that I lost 25 pounds. She was the one who encouraged me to get on a program. She was such a great friend, even after 50 years of being in touch on and off. I can't image all of your grief. She was a special lady and I will be praying for all of her family and friends. She will be missed.

Randy,
Dave and I know Mark and Carla and the boys from church. She handed both our kids their Diplomas at their graduations. She was at Presby when our first grandson was born. She was our friend and sister in Christ.
Knowing that God chose you to bring love and memories with Carla makes me smile. But what a special hurt you must have. Dave and I will pray God holds you especially close to His heart . That’s a very good place to be. He promises to always be near. And He promises we will all meet again in Heaven. Think on Heaven.
I wish I could give you hug.

Chad and Kyle and families, just a hug.
Carla raised two Godly men and loved her grandchildren, oh, so well. So sorry for your earthly loss, but rejoicing with you all on her eternal home.
Prayers for you all as you grieve.
We loved her, too.

Carla was a wonderful nurse and human being. I worked in the nicu with her for many years. So sorry to hear of her sudden passing. She always looked like she was living her life to the fullest. I know she made an impact on so many lives. Prayers for her family during this difficult time.

Carla and I worked together at Presby Dallas. Everyone loved Carla. I considered her a mentor and friend. She will be deeply missed. I’m so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with each of you that God will provide you comfort in the days ahead. Your mom/grandma loved you dearly.
