New York State Fair...Raining...group wearing rainwear...Al Jardine complaining out loud about playing in the rain...Carl commented that the band was here to entertain the group and fans that had assembled. "It's for the people, he said and let's give them what they came to hear." The crowd applauded and Carl began playing...eventually the rain stopped and everything went back to normal.

I enjoyed the way Carl smoothed out the edges and led the band in the correct direction. It meant a lot to me, the group and the crowd.

I remembered this about Carl Wilson after all these years and I am glad a chance to share it.
