Carl's obituary

Carl Vernon Snider, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and proud veteran of the Army, went to be with his Heavenly Father on April 12, 2023. 

The son of Carl Vernon Snider Sr.  and Mary Joseph Snider, Carl grew up in Indianapolis, IN. He was born December 7, 1946 and attended Thomas Carr Howe High School. 

At the age of 20 Carl was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War. He valued this service highly attained the rank of Army Corporal. As part of his service, he was a quad .50 caliber machine gunner. After his return, he served as a part of the Honor Guard for his fallen brothers. On October 17, 2018 , Carl was chosen to be a part of the Honor Flight. This program takes veterans to Washington DC where they tour each of the memorials and monuments. 

Carl worked as a tool and die maker at Western Electric/AT&T for 32 years and then 20 years at R&D/Leverage. While working at R&D/Leverage, he volunteered for ten years in the Lee's Summit High School robotics program. 

Carl is survived by his wife Ruby, siblings John (Liz), Diana, and Janine (James); children Michael, Michelle (Frank), Marcella (Tom), and Matthew; grandchildren Laura, John, Sarah, Sophia, Roma, Anastasia, Tyler, and Sadie; great granddaughter Colette; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Allie. 

Carl was a selfless and always eager to help with anything needed. He was a "jack of all trades". He loved his family and friends, and was a stranger to no one. He enjoyed playing euchre, golf, hiking, skiing, canoeing, and bicycling. He lived life to the fullest. 

A service honoring the life of Carl Vernon Snider Jr. will be held April 19, 2023 at Blue Springs Christian Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00am and service at 11:00am.
