Background
Carl was a lifelong supporter of civil rights, women's rights, and LGBTQ rights. He encouraged his children to strive to do their best and to help others along the way. He would be pleased to see this cause supported. Girl Rising is an international organization whose focus is to help to make the lives of girls and women better around the world through education and community development. Girl Rising works with local partners by providing customized tools and curricula to build confidence and agency in girls and to change attitudes and social norms so that entire communities stand up for girls and against gender discrimination.
