Carl's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carl Johnson, who left us on May 27, 2024. Born on August 10, 1956, He was born and raised in Rhode Island until he moved to North Carolina. Carl lived a life that was filled with laughter, kindness, and immeasurable love for his family.
Carl's personality was an irresistible blend of warmth, humor, wit, care, and sweetness. He was often the life of any gathering, leaving each room brighter than when he entered. His enduring lesson was a simple yet powerful one - 'Always treat others how you want to be treated', a precept he stood by and embodied in his every interaction. He worked at P & C Quality Screw Products(RI) as a machinist for many years and later worked and NC Granite Quarry & Smith Trucking(NC). He loved to work on cars and could take apart an engine and rebuild it. Another passion of his was helping people, he would give the shirt off of his back and not charge others for car repairs.
Celebrating his life, Carl's greatest accomplishments were not material but familial. He often expressed immense pride and joy in his children and grandchildren, who were the epitome of all his values and lessons.
He is survived by his wife Zena Johnson-they were married on December 20, 1974. He was also survived by daughters, Tanya Beck and Mary Johnson, and son Carl Henry Johnson Jr (CJ), who carries forward his radiant legacy. Carl's life was an exemplary testament of kindness and generosity, a beacon for all who knew him. He had 10 wonderful grandchildren who were his pride and joy. His grandchildren: Maggie & Adam McDonough, Megan Beck, Hope Talbert, Anthony Talbert, Matthew Childress, Caylee Johnson, Cyle Johnson, Christian Johnson, Liam Johnson, and Olivia Johnson. He is survived by his sisters Margaret Brooks, Anne Csizmesia, Karen Petit and his brothers Dan Johnson, Sam Johnson, and Bill Johnson.
We cordially invite you to join us as we commemorate Carl's remarkable life. The memorial service will be held on June 1, 2024, at 5:00 PM at 567 Beulah Church Rd. It is not a moment to mourn, but to celebrate a life beautifully lived, and to remember a man who touched countless hearts with his love and warmth.
Carl's legacy of kindness, laughter and generosity will live on, not just in memories, but in every life he touched. He will be deeply missed.
