Carl's obituary
Carl G. Phillips, born on March 20, 1952, in Camden, New Jersey, passed away on April 26, 2025, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was 73 years old.
Carl began his professional journey at FC Kerbeck, where he served as General Manager and Sales Manager. His charisma and dedication made a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike. Later in his career, he brought his talents to Springfield Hyundai, continuing his work in sales with the same enthusiasm and integrity that defined his professional life. In 2014, Carl joyfully retired, declaring that he was ready to “do whatever he wanted”—a motto he embraced wholeheartedly.
Carl shared his life with his beloved spouse, Linda Phillips. He was a devoted father to Carl Phillips Jr. (Priscilla) and Cherie Mueller (Robert), and a proud stepfather to Stephen Hanssens (Caitlin), Kevin Hanssens (Sara), and Chrissy Hanssens (Bernie). His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Carl Phillips (Mikalya), Luke Phillips (Angela), Seth Phillips, Selena Phillips, Monica Trent (Austin), Bobby Mueller, Matthew Mueller, Kahlynne Hanssens, and Leila Hanssens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Sarah Phillips.
Carl found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved vacationing in Myrtle Beach and along the Jersey Shore—places where he could relax with a fishing rod in hand and soak up the sun. A passionate sports fan, Carl rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his beloved Phillies and Eagles. Whether gathered around the television or at the stadium itself, he treasured these moments spent with friends and family.
To honor Carl’s memory in a way that reflects his vibrant spirit and love for camaraderie, a gathering of friends and family will be held at one of his favorite places—Sharkey's—on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 3PM. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite Phillies or Eagles gear as we celebrate Carl the way he would have wanted: surrounded by laughter, stories, and team pride.
May Carl G. Phillips be remembered with warmth by all who knew him—and may memories of him bring comfort to those whose lives he touched.
