Carl's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carl L. Crook, who left us too soon at the young age of 42, on March 2, 2024. He was a man of resounding charm and vivacity. Also known as “Chucky” to his friends, he was born on February 20, 1982, and throughout his life, he brought immense joy and laughter to all who knew him.

Carl is survived by his loving wife, Kelly (Powers) Crook, with whom he shared the joys and challenges of life and his devoted children; Connor, Matthew, Mackenzie, and Mikayla. He leaves behind his mother, Debra (Pettipaw) Crook and her husband George; his father, Carlton Crook Sr. and wife Linda; his brother, Paul Crook and wife Jennifer; his sister, Elizabeth Doyle and her husband Josh, as well as several precious nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Carl enjoyed indulging in all types of food, with a particular fondness for a good dry aged steak. He loved his coffee, enjoying multiple cups a day, and especially savored having coffee with his uncle George after dinner during our many vacations.

Carl had an enduring love for video games, proudly gaming with his daughter Kayla and their friends for their engaging Fortnite matches. Carl loved seeking out new Funko Pops or collecting Dragon Ball Z memorabilia, and always looked forward to Magic the Gathering matches with his playgroup. He enjoyed family board game nights, filling those moments with joy and laughter.

Carl was an extraordinary individual whose magnetic personality touched everyone he met. He showed up for the people in his life and loved them unconditionally. He will truly be missed; his loss leaves a void in our lives. His infectious personality and deep love for his family will continue to echo in our hearts. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the rich legacy of love and unity that he leaves behind.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Carl on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 4-8pm PM at Quincy Sons of Italy as we honor the memories and cherish the moments we shared together.
