Carl's obituary
Carl D Babb, 82, of Fullerton CA, passed away Wednesday August 14, 2024 in Orange, CA from COPD and Lewy Body Dementia. Born to William Owen and Delia Babb on December 22, 1941 was raised in rural Independence, KS. After graduating from Independence High, Carl joined the US Navy in 1960 and served President Kennedy for four years stationed in Long Beach, CA. On September 1, 1962, Carl married Ginny Baklenko and raised two children, Renee and Mike, in Fullerton, CA.
Carl spent many years working as a high school football coach until his retirement in 2017. Carl also spent much time working as a Bird Dog Trainer and GSP breeder. Carl enjoyed competing in Local, Regional and National Field Trials with his German Shorthair Pointers “GSPs.” Also as an active member of the American Kennel Club (AKC) he often served as a judge in National Bird Dog competitions. Whether it be Hunting Dog Training or preparing for Field Trials he loved running his “girls.”
Carl is survived by his wife, Ginny; brother, Blain; son, Mike; daughter-in-law, Laura and three grandchildren, Alyssa, Austin, and Easton. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Donna Fox; brother, Gary Babb; and daughter, Renee Babb.
