Hey Buddy, been thinking of you a bit today. I remembered when you took me along with you and told me how I mattered and showed me the bright side of things. I miss you very much my old friend. Dear Cale
Today would have been a milestone birthday, 25. I miss seeing you grow Cale. Never in a million years would I think this would be a reality one day. It still hurts when I think of you. I've come to realize it always will. You should still be here, living life, growing older, having more and more experiences.
This sucks, and it hurts badly. I've always loved you, and always thought of you as family, and I will always feel this way. Your mom's hanging in but it's very hard for her. My heart breaks for her all the time. She is not the same person she was and she never will be. I will always be there for your mom I promise. My heart breaks for the rest of the family too. They all miss you so much.
Last time we saw each other was army wedding, and you and your mom were the last two people to leave. I had fun dancing with you and I will always cherish the hug you gave me that night when we said goodbye. Oh and don't forget your mom you and me to the chicken dance at the wedding!

Going through emails & saw the reminder. Still hurts. I think of you here and there. I'm just grateful that you were baptized & professed belief in Jesus & that I get to see my precious brother again. You were always so sweet to me, mom, dad, and to Jess. Just as painful today as if it were last year. Still can't believe we've lost him. This time of year is difficult as his birthday follows Christmas, so we don't celebrate either anymore.

I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that he is gone. Words cannot truly express the sorrow I feel. He will always live on in my heart and memories and never be forgotten. I watched Cale grow up and looked forward to seeing Cale grow into the young man he was and becoming for years to come. Cale, wherever you are in this universe I hope you know how much you were loved by everyone and how much you are missed. I love you 💜

I think about Cale often. He set the example of unconditional kindness. Nobody that I know even today could make someone feel special like Cale Wilbur could.

Things that remind me of him:
Classical music-he loved to go to the symphony with his mom and me (I can’t listen to it yet)
Leviathan-he never got to finish the movie
Swimming pools-he and his friend Alex would spend hours in it during the summer
Laundry-he must have changed his clothes at least 3 times a day
Steak sandwiches
Mashed potatoes
Chocolate chip cookies (homemade)
Chocolate donuts (homemade)
Peach tea
Iced tea (freshly brewed)
I could go on, but reader would be bored.

Cale loved clothes more than anyone I’ve ever known. But not any clothes. No Walmart or Target for him. Not even JC Penney. His favorite brands were Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Polo and Calvin Klein. For shoes, he liked William and Johnson although he like their clothing too. He must have had at least two dozen pair of sneakers, shoes and boots.👞
He wore hoodies even on the warmest of days, and had them in all sorts of colors and designs. My favorite one was the one with the teddy bear. He had a few that were for adults only. 😊
For awhile, he liked to wear very colorful, floral shirts and dress hats. He also like to dress up with his suit, tie and one of his fancy dress hats whenever he thought it appropriate such as The Florida Orchestra concerts he enjoyed attending with his mother and me.👔
A very painful memory is, he liked to wear jewelry. He shopped for earrings, necklaces and bracelets in my jewelry cabinet. He did ask permission before taking anything, but he wasn’t against pink or red pieces.

Cale was always there when a friend was having a bad day. He’s ready to just listen without being judgmental or critical.
He readily offered to help me around the house and asked if there’s anything he could do for me.

I miss Cale so much he used to always come over and cheer me up whenever I was going through hard times. He would always bring me birthday presents and the last time I saw him he paid for my birthday dinner. I wish I would have known what he was going through. He never told me about his struggles. His birthday is coming up soon I will make sure to celebrate in his memory. Hope he is doing good in Heaven.

When the hard times were there so was he. Me and My boy E were sitting tonight reminiscing about the 1am hangouts and how the piece that was missing was our boy. He has a beautiful soul and has had a tremendous impact on my view of the world and how to control my life.
