Caden's obituary

After going into early labor on Thursday September 22nd, we noticed our baby wasn't moving and discovered that tragically his heart had stopped. On Friday, after 8 hours of intense labor, we got to meet our sweet little angel, our "little warrior".

Caden Petter Mamone was born on September 23rd at 7:58pm. He weighted 7lbs 12oz and was 21 inches long. He was the most beautiful, perfect little boy with the cutest nose and soft round cheeks. He filled our hearts with so much love and happiness. We are so grateful for the time we had to hold him, talk to him, hug him, and kiss him.

We are so grateful for the staff at Concord Hospital and our amazing midwife, Beth. They were all so supportive and attentive. They grieved with us and loved on our sweet Caden like he was their own. The hospital even arranged to have a photographer come out to take professional photos of the 3 of us. We are so blessed to have those photos to cherish and remember our time with him.

Our hearts are broken. We were so ready and excited for our lives to change, to bring a little life into the world. We are grieving the loss of all that could've and would've been. Never getting to hear him cry, laugh, or see him smile. Never getting to bring him home, watch him grow up and see who he would become. It is such a huge unimaginable loss that we are slowly navigating.

In spite of the pain we are feeling, there is so much to celebrate. Since the day we found out about this miracle baby on January 3rd 2022, our love for each other has grown stronger.  He has brought so much clarity and purpose to our lives. We know his impact on this world will be immense. We have already seen ways that he has inspired others. His life was short, but his story has purpose.

Caden, you will always be our first child. You were perfect, beautiful and all we ever wanted. You stole our hearts, you will always be with us. We know that God is holding you in his arms now.

We love you so much.

"You were born silent. Perfect and beautiful. Still loved. Still missed. Still remembered. Everyday. Stillborn. Still Born."
