Many years over the last 45 Buddy and I would swap birthday messages....his 9/22, mine in October. I thought of him many times yesterday, on his day. Will miss his solo performance on my day.

Buddy was such a nice guy always. My husband Jimmy and I knew Buddy’s wife Beverly and we send prayers her way and also to their kids and grandkids. Love from Jamie Hargrave Brantley

Very sorry to hear about Bud's passing and I just wanted to say that he was my supervisor at Bell Labs and he was the best boss I ever had.

I have known and worked with Bud for many years. We teamed up both at Lucent Technologies and Cedar Point Communications. Those by far were the best years of my career.
Thank you for your friendship and optimism Bud. I will always treasure the fun, the joy, the laugh and the successes we built together.
You will be missed dearly. Specially, I will miss your two calls / text messages on my TWO birthdays!
You are a uniquely minted friend and a colleague. Rest in peace my dear friend.

So sorry! Buddy and I worked on the same floor for South Central Bell in Louisville at Linn Station Rd location. He was always engaging and bright light for everyone on the floor. We became friends attempting to overthrough a bad seed on the workfront. We stayed in touch after I moved to Birmingham BellSouth and he went North. He was a great long distant friend for more than 40 years. I will miss him. I still have a VMS from him he left a month or so ago. I am sorry I missed the call. Buddy had a big heart.

I've been good friends with Bed and Buv for 35 years. (I alway called them these names and we would laugh). I enjoyed my time with them in Hampstead and in Maine. I can't stop thinking of Bud since he passed. We had so many good times and they were my friends who enjoyed eating and cooking as much as I do. Bud was so kind, a wonderful family man, very intelligent and would go out of his way to help others. I knew from the day I met them that we would be friends and always enjoyed our conversations. He spoke so kindly and affectionately about his children Matt and MacKenzie. Godspeed Bud! Love you!

I am so sad to hear this news. Bud was an industry “buddy”, someone I would see at trade shows. He was always so upbeat and encouraging. While I didn’t know him well, what I knew of him was as an outstanding person. My prayers go to his family for Peace and Comfort.

I had 20 years at our local Time Warner Cable division when I was abruptly terminated. Through coworkers I landed an account management position at Cedar Point Communications in 2004 reporting directly to Bud. I was the preverbal fish out of water going from the provider side to the vendor side of the business. Bud was the perfect boss to have through a transition like that. He helped me navigate the business through patience and mostly humor. He nudged me along until I could “fly” on my own. I would spend large periods of time in his office “working” but really all we did was talk and laugh about our personal and business lives. Bud was good about staying in touch post Cedar Point and we would catch up every couple of years. I made many lasting friendships from my time at that company and I count Bud right at the top of that list. I’ll miss hearing from him and mostly miss his sense of humor. He was one of the good guys. Condolences to the family.
