Bryan, John and Fraternity......
Mother's vision was Auroville, in that Bryan's vision was Fraternity.
Bryan had started Fraternity community in Auroville, adjacent to kuyillapalayam village.Inside the Fraternity , Bryan established cottage industries, such as mat weaving, handloom cloth weaving carpentry , tailoring, and manufactured hammock, lampshade, crochet garments etc . The villagers involved themselves in the various units of Fraternity. They all loved Bryan and made a good relationship with the Aurovillians.
The manufactured products of Fraternity were exported to various countries and the profit was given to Auroville needs. In this period, around 1973 Bryan came to know me (John Pushparaj) through my Parents Mary Ponnammah, and Jesudoss and my sister Chellathai. Thus he invited me to serve along with him for Auroville. First, he offered me to teach the village children and later few months he gave some responsible works in the office. In the due course, he studied my sincerity and responsibility in work, then he uplifted me to an administrator of the Fraternity units. Still 1981, along with Bryan we administered Fraternity community and thus we served Auroville.
Bryan loved and respected Tamil people very much. He was kind, generous in helping, sweet in nature and a very good finance administrator. On seeing my honesty, sincerity in work, and kind in handling the labourers driven Bryan to show more affection and respect on me. That let him to promote me as an Export Manager and as well as the administrator of Fraternity working units. I am always very great full to Bryan.
When I first met him, i wondered to see his gentle and attractive physic. I admired his beautiful face and long black beard rolled into a small neat bun . He was loved by all very much. Like an ant and honey bee he was very smart all the time. He visited each and every corner of Fraternity both in the morning and evening times. He gave drinking water supply to the kuyillapalayam villagers with pleasure. A hard worker. For the growth of Auroville he worked well in all kinds of situation and in all the time till his last breath. No one can deny his dedicated service to Auroville.
I shower my love and thanks for such a sweet hearted person. Let his soul rest in peace.
Our solace to his lovable wife Fanou, his children, and grand children.
With love
John and Family.
