Bryan's obituary
Bryan Christopher Schaum
July 26, 1992 – March 3, 2026
Bryan Christopher Schaum, 33, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away on March 3, 2026. Born on July 26, 1992, Bryan—known affectionately to many as “Little B” or “Little Bryan”—was a charismatic and funny soul who brought light into every room he entered. He had a special love for his sister, Alexandrea Danks, who lovingly called him “Bubby,” and he was always affectionate, loving, and protective of her.
Bryan attended Evansville Christian School and was baptized in Jesus at a young age. He was deeply committed to his health and fitness, taking great pride in his dedication to the gym and in maintaining his nutrition. Bryan especially enjoyed working out with his father, Bryan Charles Schaum (“Big B”), and the two spent many meaningful hours together exercising and playing basketball with family and friends. His Grandmother Freda, became like a second mother to him, sharing with him a bond of deep love and support. Bryan also loved music, taking long walks, and spending time with his loving girlfriend, Gabrielle Carpenter.
He will be remembered most for his beautiful smile and infectious laugh. Bryan’s natural charisma and humor were gifts to everyone around him. He possessed a tender heart and never left his family without giving a warm hug and saying, “I love you.”
Bryan was preceded in death by his mother, Sonya Estelle Schaum; his grandfather, James D. Lopp; his Great Grandmother Bobbie; his uncles Aaron and Nathan Schaum; his great-uncle, Jimmy Lopp III; and his nephew Cory Shaum
More than just a son, Bryan was also a best friend to his father. He will be profoundly missed by his father, Bryan Charles Schaum; his grandparents, Larry and Nancy Schaum, and Freda and Rollie Lehnus; his sister, Alexandrea Danks; his uncles, Scott, Matt, and Jason Schaum (and Jason’s wife, Lindsay, and their daughters, Geneva and Josie); his aunt, Amanda Schaum Breivogel and her husband, Matt, and their children Noah, Eli, Ella, and Levi; his uncle, Jason Pickles (son of Freda and brother of Sonya); his loving girlfriend, Gabrielle Carpenter; and a wide circle of friends.
The family wishes to thank the many friends and loved ones who recognized the light in Bryan’s soul and shared in his life with kindness and laughter that meant the world to him and to us. Our peace comes from knowing that Bryan is now with Jesus in perfect peace.
“Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.”
