Bryan's obituary
It is with devastating sadness that we share that my son, Bryan Jeremy Dinkin has passed away on September 2, 2022 after a long and valiant struggle against Crohn’s disease and the damage it caused to his liver at the too-young age of 46 years.
Bryan was born on August 31, 1976 to parents Leonard and Ethel Dinkin in Los Angeles, California. His was an extremely premature birth, 14 weeks early. He weighed only 1 pound, 7 ounces and had significant health issues that caused him to spend a total of over ten months of his first year in the hospital.
I learned very quickly that Bryan was not going to be a quitter as he overcame so many obstacles throughout his life. Through hard work and extra concentration, he successfully got through High School and went on to get an Associates Degree and then his Bachelors Degree in Communication.
His love of sports was legendary, and he was always talking and texting about games with family and friends across the country. That was among the greatest pleasures in his life.
He had several jobs before working his way into becoming a Shift Supervisor at CVS Pharmacy. Unfortunately, his career was cut short by two adverse reactions to medications prescribed for his Crohn’s disease, eventually resulting in his becoming unable to work and classified as disabled.
Bryan then invested his time and energy to become involved in several internet Crohn’s disease groups where he shared his experience and positive attitude with other members.
As a result of the Crohn’s disease he suffered two serious events of weight loss that required hospitalization, the last one requiring him to move into a long-term care facility.
Bryan’s dream was to get to Florida to live with his father Len and his stepmother Marlene, and become a permanent resident, not a visitor. He achieved that goal and spent his last months happily in that environment. His passing was a gentle, pain-free moment, while sleeping in his own bed at home.
Bryan is survived by his mother, father and stepmother, aunts, uncles, cousins and so many friends, both met and unmet who were impacted by his kind and gentle ways.
We would like to thank Treasure Coast Hospice for giving us the opportunity to have Bryan live his last months as well as could be, strongly and supported.
Services will be held in Palm City, Florida on September 7, 2022 at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
