Helping hands

In lieu of flowers

In lieu of flowers, consider a gift to Canadian Cancer society.

I first met Bryan when he became my new boss at GD Canada in Bells Corners.

Me being in a bad mood and not so accepting of this mgmt change he took me aside and said let's figure this out. Instantly problem solved and he was one of the best bosses I ever had. I loved working for him ! He always fought for us with our interests at heart which was not any easy thing in that environment.

He told me about his life and family so I got to know him personally, but he didn't talk about music ever. He mentioned being in Whistler way back when there was 1 lift which I thought was so cool since I love skiing. Bryan gave me a pair of his downhill ski poles which I've used ever since that time.

Years later by chance I saw him in his yard, we talked and it turns he'd moved down the block.

I mentioned I play music (classical musician viola) so he suggested we should jam.

The special day happened with Bryan on the uke, singing, my small kids on the kazoo and various drums, me playing and singing with my wife and another friend too. I'll remember it forever.

Whenever I walk by his house I look to see if he's home, but noticed for a while no car thinking maybe he's moved away or perhaps somewhere warm.

But yesterday seeing the lane not plowed and the house looking lonely, I had a feeling and came across the Facebook page.

Bryan made the world such a better place and I miss him.

I wish his daughters my condolences and hope they are Ok.

Can't upload video of one of hundreds of fun-filled Friday nights @ Bryan s-Jamming along with Phish on the Juno 🎹  just hung out with one of his two precious daughters on this one year after occaision .Plan to meet up again with the lovely Danielle and her sweet sister Mariel- his two greatest achievements- God Love you my man- BC. . . 💫

To Bryan’s family,

I apologize for sending this a few months late but I only just heard of Bryan’s passing. My deepest condolences to the entire family.

I was Bryans recruiter for a short period. I remember how Bryan was the type of person where the first conversation with him felt like you were talking to an old friend. As brief as our interactions were, I will always remember him. Rest easy, Bryan.

What did I learn from Bryan James Crapper?

I learned / confirmed my thoughts, that MAUI is heavenly.

I finally got my chance to enjoy an amazing time there, with Bryan & his sisters in 2014, after So wanting to go since 1996.

There are NO words to describe, the Love, the Joy, the Wondrous Sounds… of listening to Bryan, strumming on his ukulele, as we strolled the ‘7 beaches of Maui’. Or while he was playing the flute, as the Maui sun was setting. Heavenly! Right?

I found my long lost ‘Mellow in Maui’. It really should be on everyone’s bucket list to visit!

I learned / confirmed from Bryan, that my thoughts, My deep passionate LOVE about all things MUSIC, is valid.

That Music should be natural part of life, without question, just like eating.

Music is water, food, fuel. Music is heavenly, for the Human Spirit & Soul.

And I learned / confirmed, that my gentle, loving, steadfast belief, is that, EVERYONE should have Music in their lives EVERY SINGLE DAY! For a special time, it was close to that for us.

There are NO words to describe, the Love, the Joy, the Wondrous Sounds … of listening to Bryan, when he would reach for & starts playing almost ANY Musical instrument at any given moment. i.e. jamming in or outside of his studio, in his home.

You All, can start connecting, reconnecting with Music. How about today?

And like the butterfly affect,

You just might discover, your outlook towards yourself & others, rise & shine in a more positive light.

Music has Unique, Magnificent, Mystical, Magical powers!

Bryan knew that.

Music called out to him at an early age & he responded.

I have learned / wish to share, that We are All blessed to have known Bryan in our individual ways.

Bryan,

You are Missed by Many, by Me.

Dear Danielle,

My sincerest condolences to you and your family on the loss of your dear father.

I know how difficult it is to say goodbye to a parent but I also know that their presence will always surround you as you find strength to move on.

He will be smiling down on you and will support and comfort you in your life ahead.

My thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Warmest sympathies,

Josephine

Dear Danielle,

Fred.

Dear Danielle,

Sending you all my love and thinking of you at this most difficult time.

I am always available should you want to talk.

Regards,

Bryan, you will be so missed by your friends at Bytown Ukulele Group. Thank you for sharing your musical gifts with us! Bryan was a regular at our monthly jams for over 10 years and added scintillating improvisational fingerpicking to the songs we played making us all sound way better. The only person I’ve ever heard shredding Jethro Tull on the ukulele! The videos we took of Bryan at BUG open mics over the years have garnered thousands of views. Condolences to Bryan’s family from us all.
