Bryan's obituary
Bryan Louis Coppola, 61, of Bethlehem, passed away on December 26, 2025, in Kona, Hawaii. Bryan was born to Louis and Madeline Coppola, on March 23, 1964, and was raised in Danbury, along with his sister, Lisa.
Bryan is survived by his mother, Madeline Coppola; his sister, Lisa Coppola; his children, Neil Coppola; nephew, Francis Depierro; his life partner, Debra Baldwin; and dozens of close friends. Bryan was pre-deceased by his father, Louis Coppola; and his former wife, Kyle Czarsty. Bryan raised his children in Newtown with his first wife, Donna Coppola. Bryan encouraged his kids to follow their passions and live with an intensity and thankfulness for life. He loved them shamelessly, always giving them freedom to evolve and learn from their mistakes.
Bryan and Kyle shared a wonderful life during their 3 years together, until her untimely passing in 2016. She showered him with a depth of love he’d never known before and he held her light close to his heart until their ultimate reunion. Bryan and Debra met in 2018 and have lived in several towns during their 7-year relationship, ultimately landing in Bethlehem where they were happily ensconced in country life. Their Woodbury home had been a complete down-to-the-studs renovation which Bryan spearheaded and completed in a remarkably short eight months. The home currently stands as his pride and joy.
For over 30 years, Bryan was owner of Barchetta Construction, building luxury homes in Fairfield County. He was a natural fit for the construction business, consistently demonstrating his exemplary vision and unique style. A people-person at heart, he fostered many long-lasting friendships.
Bryan’s death has left a huge hole in the hearts of those who loved him. He was larger than life in a million ways and it is incomprehensible that he is no longer with us. His passion for life was big and his capacity to care about and take care of others was even bigger. Of his many passions, the most deeply held were knowledge, connection, animals (6 cats and a peacock!), cooking for the people he loved, music (he was an awesome drummer!) and his friends. The most remarkable thing that Bryan brought into this world was his constant striving for connection. In any interaction he had with anyone, he was eager to learn about them and from them, hear their story and share life experiences. He often said, ‘Everyone has a story that deserves to be heard’.
Bryan and Debra visited Hawaii often and deeply felt the Aloha spirit in a beautiful culture that honors the elderly, treats everyone like family, reveres the land and expresses gratefulness every day for the beauty of the surroundings. Bryan stated that the days spent in Hawaii prior to his death were the calmest and most peaceful days of his life.
A celebration of his amazing life is being held at his home in the spring where, I can assure you, lots of tears, laughter, love and rock ‘n’ roll will abound.
Please send a silent RIP or prayer that his spirit now flies free.
