My family started going to the rock gym to give our daughter Gracie a fun outlet.   Bryan was one of the reasons we became members and continued to go back.  His enthusiasm and positive words were so refreshing to be around.  Even if he was busy doing something he would always stop if I had a question on how to help Grace with a problem.  He encouraged her and she competed in a climbing event and was two years younger than everyone at the event.  She flashed a 5.7 !   To the sounds of Bryan yelling up,"You are crushing it Gracie."   I will always remember you Bryan, thank you for sharing your passion with us and being my friend.

I was a student of Bryan. I loved and respected him so much. I know that he will live on in our hearts for ever. I miss you Bryan. The gym will never be the same without you

We wanted to send you our love and condolences at this time. Our heartfelt prayers go out to you, and we hope that you may somehow find the strength you need to make it through each day.

The Reece Family
Bryan was there on my first day I started climbing with KURC. He helped guide me through climbing techniques and shared his love of the sport, and for that I will be forever grateful. There's a bunch of funny stories and great memories I had with Bryan, mostly back when we both lived in Colorado.

One time at Lumpy Ridge he came down from a climb and a marmot had eaten through his pack and one of his shoes to get to an energy bar he had left in it. He was pretty irked by it, but ultimately just laughed it off in typical Bryan fashion with his unforgettable giggle.

My other favorite memory with Bryan was when after a bit of partying, he, Chris Brooks and I decided we would try to summit Mt. Meeker in early winter conditions the following day. It was November 2002, and we drove up at 2 a.m. or so and slept in the back of Brooks' pickup. After a "solid" 3 hours of sleep we took off up the hill, with inadequate gear, horribly unprepared for that ascent. We pushed through a wind storm for a bit but when we finally reached just below the saddle, we made the decision we had gone far enough. Hungover, no sleep and minimal food we achieved 13,000 feet on sheer willpower and a love for the outdoors. We ended up having fun glissading down and walking over to Chasm Lake for a lunch break under that beautiful view of the Diamond.

I will never forget Bryan and my thoughts go out to the family and fellow friends in this dark hour.
Hey Tiffany. I’m sorry I didn’t get to see more of Bryan. He sounds like an awesome guy.
I never met Bryan but he was a huge part of my niece, Molly's life and helped her grow into the vibrant, compassionate, energetic and beautifully daring young woman that she is, and for this I am profoundly grateful. Thank you, Bryan.
