Dear Robin,

I met Bruce when I arrived in 1964 at UC Davis, not too far from where I was born and raised.  It was a thrill to join an absolutely brilliant colleague at the emergence of chemical engineering at UCD.  Sadly for me, Bruce found Brown to be a much more attractive location.  It was a treasure to share an office with Bruce and it was a pleasure to see him join a fantastic group at Brown
