Brooks's obituary
Brooks is survived by his father, Michael O'Donnell of Evergreen, Colorado; his mother, Karen O'Donnell of Evergreen, Colorado; brother, Forrest O'Donnell, of Aloha, Oregon; sister, Moorea O'Donnell of Alexandria, Virginia; and various cousins, aunts, uncles, etc.
Brooks grew up surrounded by the Coloradan mountains, and the spirit of the wild west was instilled in him by his father, Michael. Brooks followed in the footsteps of his older brother, Forrest, by enjoying what the great outdoors had to offer. When Brooks wasn't hiking in the woods or learning the rich history of Colorado, he traveled up and down the east coast with his older sister, Moorea, and even dove into politics.
Brooks was a devoted son, brother and friend. He made many close friends who still stand by him today and remember his strong spirit. Brooks was kind and valued everyone around him as if they were family. You could spend hours having a conversation with Brooks and you would feel like it had only been a few minutes.
Brooks was passionate about the gold mining history in Colorado, and he spent years working as a valued tour guide at the Argo Mill in Idaho Springs, Colorado. The Argo Mill was kind enough to extend their space for a memorial that was held for Brooks on August 1, 2021. To carry on his legacy, Brooks would have wanted everyone to learn about the rich history behind the gold rush in Colorado.
