Sergeant First Class Brian Kenneth Schultz US Army Ret.
July 1, 1966 – May 5, 2023
Brian Kenneth Schultz of Harker Heights, Texas, died in the early morning hours of May 5, 2023 after a 14 month battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Brian was born in Tawas, Michigan and joined the Army right after Graduating from Hemlock High School , Hemlock Michigan on July 10, 1984 and retired July 23, 2004. He served on Active Duty, Active National Guard and Active Reserve. He was employed as a civilian contractor as a Technical Instructor from 2004 until 2020 in continued service to his country. Brian’s last job was as an Over the Road Truck Driver which he enjoyed immensely as it permitted him to see a lot more of America; the country he loved. Brian is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years and 9 months, Silvia Schultz, his father Allen Schultz, Step Mom Lori Wittkopp,two Brothers, 1 Sister, 4 Daughters, 3 Sons and 21 Grandchildren ranging in age from 4 months to 22 years of age. 3 Nephews,1Niece Brian was preceded in death by his mother Sharon Dittenber. Brian was active in Motorcycle Clubs to include the Patriot Guard, he enjoyed serving his country both in and out of uniform and using his experience and wisdom to make people’s lives better. Brian was a prolific dog owner and dog lover. He enjoyed Fishing, Hunting, Woodworking and creating things while tinkering in his garage. His backyard is evidence of his creativity. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and often could be found on the road exploring Texas with his wife Silvia that also rode her own motorcycle. He enjoyed spending time with his children and his grandchildren. On occasion those that really knew Brian might see him with a cold beer in his hand, but his preferred beverage of choice was ice cold Disaronno Italian Liqueur. Funeral services for Brian are scheduled for Friday, June 9, 2023. A graveside ceremonial service with Military Honors will be held, at the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery at 9:00am, located at 11463 State Highway 195, Killeen, Texas.
