Hey Brian, this day always brings mixed emotions. We lost you, but it also brings back so many great memories and unforgettable conversations. We miss you, mon ami.
Miss you, buddy. See you in the Kingdom…
Brian and I worked together very closely for 5 years.  He and I received a Patent for barite movement together.  He worked very hard to make Baroid the best Barite supplier we could be.  He loved Chinese dumpling soup, good steaks and traveling the world.  He enjoyed places like Singapore, Turkey, Lebanon, the Netherlands, Norway, Dubai, Morocco, India and Mexico.  He will forever be missed for his fun spirit and great knowledge of Barite supply and logistics.  Just remembering him today.  I wish his family and friends the very best in 2022.

I met Brian at Mitsubishi int…
2005, Sicily, Italy
I met Brian at Mitsubishi international. Our friendship slowly developed and it turned into love. We were happily married for many years. We shared many ups and downs and although things didn’t turn out how we had expected, Brian has and always will hold a dear place in my heart. He was one of the smartest people I have ever met. His love for travel, music, food, and his love for life was unmeasurable. I pray that you’re resting in peace surrounded by your dad, your loving grandma, and our babies. You will be missed. Claudia
As the years passed I realized how much I enjoyed Brian as a friend, storyteller and co-worker.
As a Friend he was a compassionate, sincere friend who always said the right verbiage at the right time!
His many abroad adventurers were always more interesting due to his ability to provide his knowledgeable skillset bringing in his dry sense of humor to any and all customer interactions providing his
dry sense of humor combined with his knowledge to gain customer trust and closing valued contracts.
Many a late evening he would drop by our building to chat not just about his situations but always letting you know that he wanted to gain updates on what was our latest tribulations and work challenges not to mention our personal challenges in life resulting in him navigating to a platform that always made it more tolerant.
Brian O' Connell YOU will be missed but your soul will live on in our hearts and I'm sure any and all gates your soul travels to will become alive with true reality of you and your SOUL!

Although we only had a few opportunities to get to know Brian, they all were memorable. He was our house guest at the same time he was struggling with his vision problems. Despite the difficulties of navigating a new house with various one step changes in levels, he never complained. Encouraged by his Dad, Richard, a prominent geophysicist, we tried a variety of experiments to see if some visual exercises might help. We stretched a clothes line across a room and hung a tennis ball from this line at head height. I asked him to walk across the room punching at the ball without moving his head side to side. He was game. I remember after this he said, "okay I've done it now you try it,".... with a huge mischievous grin on his face. We also discussed the subtleties of hi-fi speakers, and I learned he had more than one, in fact almost a museum. His enthusiasm was contagious, and I ended up with a far more extensive speaker system than I knew I needed. Now Margie and I linger over breakfast and listen to a variety of music on our fantastic speaker system all thanks to Brian.

BAROID HIP (and cool) Latin …

BAROID HIP (and cool) Latin night
When I met Brian - we were sharing office cubes when he moved to Houston. He was talking loud on the phone, I looked at him with bad eyes.... few months later we were great colleagues . He sounded so romantic talking French to some of our suppliers He later used his good Spanish to impress all the single “señoritas“.
Last time he visited our home...Brian karaoke “Hotel California“ for all the Latin Baroid IDP gang ! Many memories of Brian I would like to share with you Micheline when you are in Town!
Micheline - you did a great job rising such a great gentlemen !
His life in earth was short but his accomplishments were many ! He is on a higher being’s memory and I have faith...He will give us another opportunity to hug Brian again !
A brilliant mind lost to soon. I will miss Brian's wit and listening to his stories from visiting so many different countries. He lived life to the fullest and he will be greatly missed.

Micheliene, I was so sorry to learn of Brian’s passing. He was a great guy and a great friend. My sadness is for those of us he left behind because I know that Brian is with the Lord now. We will most certainly see him again and that will be a Great Day.
