I am very sorry to have just heard of Brian's passing.I came to know him, his wife and daughter through French  language lessons as he strived to adapt to Montreal's bilingual culture. It is sure that he was a great family man, loving husband and father and he will be sadly missed. May his memory live on and may he rest in peace.

I will always remember Brian with a smile on his face! He was so friendly and so brilliant! Most of all, I know he dearly loved his wife and daughter. He will be dearly missed by the entire Munson family.
My sincere condolences to Brian’s family. I had the privilege of working with Brian at IOC and really enjoyed his sense of humour and positivity. It was such a pleasure working with him and getting to know him. He will truly be missed.

I had the great privilege of working with Brian at Oyu Tolgoi, Mongolia. His intelligence, altruism, and unique sense of humour were a constant source of inspiration to me.

My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

We will all miss him.

Pour Sadie et Ellen,

Je pense à vous et je vous transmets mes sincères sympathies. Ellen, ton papa avait toujours un sourire au visage lors de nos rencontres.  Toutes mes pensées seront pour toi et ta maman.

I met Brian through the Ronald McDonald House Board in Newfoundland and Labrador. Brian was a beautiful person that loved to challenge us all to be the best possible versions of ourselves.  It was a true pleasure to know him and I'm a better leader because of him.  My heart is with his family at this most difficult time.

To Sadie, Ellen, Brian’s parents and entire family, on behalf of the members of the board of directors, management and staff at Ronald McDonald House Newfoundland and Labrador, we express our deepest condolences on the passing of Brian. We are all saddened to hear this news. Brian was a valued member of our board and provided exceptional leadership and guidance. We will miss our dear friend and colleague.

Deeply saddened to hear this news. Brian was my host brother - he lived with my family in my village in Kyrgyzstan as a Peace Corps volunteer. Though his service was cut short and he had to evacuate after 9/11, the time we shared with him left a lasting imprint on our hearts. My family remembers his laughter filling our home, his endless curiosity about our culture, and his genuine care for the people around him. Even after all these years, we still talk about him with love and gratitude. Rest in peace, dear Brian baike — you will always be a part of our story.

My condolences to Brian's family, such a loss. I really enjoyed the short time we worked together at IOC, so smart and funny and also so focused on what he was trying to achieve.

I'm thinking of you.

I had the opportunity to work closely with Brian (and Sadie) for many years through ACMS, the Council of American Overseas Research Centers and our shared commitment to supporting our friends in Mongolia to build opportunities and connections. I was able to visit Brian, Sadie and Ellen last fall in Montreal and we shared many stories and laughs from his time as our second ACMS resident director, from their days in Gobi, and the adventures of hosting visiting groups including the Fulbright-Hays teachers from the US, the CAORC directors from around the world and our conference on Owen Lattimore and his grandson Evan. Through it all Brian had a smile on his face, jokes and keen observations to share, a network of friends in Mongolia and abroad, and always the wise counsel, love and partnership of Sadie (and Ellen!). I was in Mongolia with ACMS when I heard of Brian's passing, and while his illness prevented his physical presence in that special country in recent years, I felt his spirit present in the people, places and eternal blue skies. Brian touched many lives, and we will work to honor his vision to build a future world of connection and understanding.
It has taken me a few days for this sad news to truly sink in. Brian’s mentorship and guidance during my years at Oyu Tolgoi were invaluable. He was one of the few expats who spoke and wrote Mongolian better than many of us, and his humor always came at just the right time. It was a great honor to work with him. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace, Brian.
It is with great sadness that I learned of the passing of my former colleague, Brian White. I have only fond memories of our time working together in the Montreal office. I used to call him "Mr. White", joking about the TV show Breaking Bad. In return, since we were often the last to leave, he called me the "Golden Key Holder", the one responsible for locking up the office after he left. Brian was a great colleague: serious when it mattered, yet always with a relaxed and friendly spirit. He will be deeply missed.
Brian was an extraordinary professional and the kindest soul I met at Rio Tinto.  An example of resilience, always at the office until the very end. Sincere condolences to his family.

To Brian’s family, I’m truly sorry for your loss and send my deepest condolences. 🤍 🕊️

I worked with Brian during my time with IOC's Team. He was a great man with high values, cherished by all of us.

A very special person taken too soon.

So sad to learn this news about a revered and well respected former colleague. Brian was a stellar work colleague so loved by teammates, stakeholders and really anyone who was lucky enough to interact with him.

He is already sorely missed - my condolences to his family who featured in his tales about fun adventures, exploration and special memorable moments shared with colleagues at work.

To Brian’s family, I’m truly sorry for your loss and send my deepest condolences. I had the privilege of working with Brian at IOC and always appreciated his thoughtful perspective and kind nature. Keeping you in my thoughts.
My deepest condolences to you, Sadie, Ellen, and all your loved ones. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May Brian rest in peace and continue to shine his light upon you. He was a truly good man - one of a kind - and he will be deeply missed at Rio.
My sincerest condolences to Brian’s family. I worked with Brian at IOC and enjoyed his different perspective and inquisitive nature. Sending you all love ❤️
This is a great loss and a special loss to those likely myself who were introduced to Mongolian culture through his knowledge and wisdom. He lit a fire in my interest and academic research. A great person and gone too soon. All love to the family.
Oh Sarah, I am so so sorry for your loss. I have enjoyed learning about Brian and your adventures through social media over the years. Sending you and Ellen lots of love and deepest sympathies.
We are so very sorry for your loss of Brian.  Not nearly enough days to celebrate his life and the gifts he shared with the world.  May you each be blessed with joyful memories of love and adventure.  Love,  Cindi and Randy
