Brian's obituary
Brian Glad, “Glad” or “BG” as he was known to those close to him, passed away suddenly of natural causes on January 10, 2025, at the age of 47.
He is survived by his mother, Gail; his sister, Lauren; his brother, Aaron; and Amy, the mother of his two beautiful daughters, Gabriela and Greta. He is preceded in death by his father, George.
Brian was born in 1977 to Gail and George and grew up in Lansing, Illinois, where he made countless friends. He later moved to Madison, Wisconsin, where he made a home, started a family, expanded his circle of friends, and remained until his passing.
Brian was a loving father to his girls—they were everything to him. He was also a great friend, and all those fortunate enough to know him remember his kind heart, vibrant energy, and natural ability to make everyone feel welcome. With his wicked sense of humor, Brian could make anyone laugh, whether it was with a quick-witted remark, a hilarious story, or a perfectly delivered one-liner. He had an unmatched gift for bringing joy and light to any room.
Brian was a huge sports fan and loved cheering for the Cubs, Blackhawks, Packers, and Tottenham Hotspur. An avid fisherman, he was happiest with a rod in hand, finding peace by the water. He was also an incredible cook, passionate about his food, and loved sharing meals and memories with his friends and family.
Although his time with us was too short, Brian lived an incredibly full life, leaving behind countless memories of love, laughter, and friendship. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
While there will be no formal services, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
