Brian's obituary
With respect and fondness, we announce the passing of Brian Wade who peacefully transitioned on November 7, 2024. Born on September 8, 1955, Brian lived a rich and fulfilling life, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew him. He was a beloved father, brother, grandfather and friend.
Gentle, polite, and kind-hearted, Brian had a warm personality that drew people towards him. His most treasured advice to all was simple yet profound, "Just be nice." This philosophy was evident in the way he lived his life and treated those around him.
Brian had a zest for life that manifested in his love for a diverse range of hobbies and interests. His favorite music was Grateful Dead or just about any music from the 60's & 70's that reflected his love for the classic rock genre. He loved attending music festivals and did a cross country journey with his son Richard once to follow the Grateful Dead.
Brian was a 1974 Mansfield High School graduate - Mansfield, Massachusetts
If you knew Brian - you knew he loved to go 'junking' :) and took pride in collecting treasures that he found along the way. Many of those treasures - he would gift to people he knew...
He adored the Rail Road and basically loved anything 'trains'. Brian worked for Amtrak as a maintenance man & laying track. He was a laborer with Penn Central Transportation Company & was a member of the "Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees" - Union - Lodge CRSF 0201.
Brian also had a passion for classic cars and had owned various muscle cars and classic models in his younger days. Later in life he would prefer his pickup truck over anything and took pride in it. He enjoyed watching classic television series like 'Leave it to Beaver' and 'Gunsmoke'. Known for his culinary preferences, he loved pizza above all other foods.
Some of Brian's fondest memories were growing up in Mansfield and when he worked at Circle C Stables on Branch St. in Mansfield. He made many friends there whom he would stay in contact with throughout his life. Brian's childhood on Branch Street was his favorite time in life.
Aside from these interests, Brian held a special place in his heart for his cats, Pearl and Buddy. Spending time with these beloved feline companions was one of his favorite recreational activities. They are now with a friend of his sons and they are doing well. He also was kind to his wild animal friends and enjoyed feeding the birds and his chipmunk friend 'Chip".
Brian is survived by his Son Richard Wade, his daughter in law, Amie Jordan Wade, and his step granddaughters Eliza Jordan & Rowan Kunzmann - all of Rhode Island, also grandchildren - from his son Brian Pierce. Brian is also survived by his siblings, sister - Jennifer Wade-Bennett and brothers Craig, Richard, Gregory, James Wade. His nephews, Craig Wade (Philippines) & Jeff Murray of Rhode Island, his nieces, Jennifer Murray of Florida and Sheena Ford of Rhode Island, and many other nieces, nephews and good friends. These loved ones are left to keep his memory alive, even as they mourn his departure.
He was predeceased by his son Brian Pierce and daughter April Wade, Siblings, Gary and Robert Wade, his sisters Elizabeth Wade-Murray and Susan Wade, and his parents James Wade and Shirley MacDonald-Wade.
