Brian Clifford Couvier passed away suddenly on January 19, 2026, at the age of 62 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. He was predeceased by his father, George Couvier, and his extended family: Bruce Evans, June Curtis (Evans), Roy Evans, John Robert Evans, and Audrey Roberta Evans (Carr). Brian will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his mother, Victoria Oke (Bill Oke); his sister, Lindsay Couvier (Steve), and her children, Mya, Henry, and Noah; his uncle, Ron Evans (Cairine); his cousins Lauralee, Kelly, and Melissa and their families; his cousin Terry Curtis (Alison) and their children, Brianna and Rebecca; his cousin Randy Curtis and his children, Remmington and Reeve; his cousin Roy Evans Jr.; and his aunt, Corinne Buckindale (Terrance), and their children, Kristan Lavigne and Brenon Antram. He was also Godfather to Joe Forini and will be missed by Neil Fincham. He was a devoted father to Justin Steepe (Kelly) and Cassie Lennox (Steve), and a proud grandfather to Finnegan and Ruby. Brian will be remembered for his deep love of family, friends, animals, and the outdoors especially winter, his favourite season. He had a generous heart and a free-spirited, fun-loving nature that drew people in wherever he went. His laugh was contagious—if he was laughing, everyone around him was too. He carried a youthful energy throughout his life, bringing humour and light into every space. Brian lived life fully, always chasing adventure and surrounded by the motorized toys he loved. Whether on snow or water, he found joy in every season. An auto mechanic by trade, he was passionate about customizing vehicles and pushing limits through his work with Lowdown Automotive. His skill and creativity were admired by many. In recent years, Brian spent time working alongside friends and colleagues as a valued part of operations at Brimacombe Ski Hill, often with his loyal sidekick, CJ the corgi. His passing feels sudden and deeply felt, leaving those who loved him heartbroken. He cherished time with family and friends and was always grateful for the memories they created together. His presence will be profoundly missed. A celebration of Brian’s life will be held on April 25, 2026, at Brimacombe Ski Resort in Orono, Ontario, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
