I met Brett in February 1975 when he was assigned to keep an eye on me at White Deer Run. We were in the "Big Con" group and our therapist, Judy, wanted to make sure I didn't run away. Brett helped me out for the first weeks there. I recall his stories of running the streets in Harrisburg. Later, I got to know him through our fellowships and saw that he carried a strong message of recovery and of caring. I appreciate that he was in my life and that we remained "Big Con" friends throughout the years. I have all of his Christmas cards and annual recovery celebration cards signed "Big Con Brett." I'll miss his funny messages and sense of caring.

Dear Brett, you’re so sweet and left to soon. I know a lot of grandchildren will miss you in their lives so please bless us and them with your grace. Jason was the best son and he loved you so much
Oh Brett …. I truly think you had more living to do but God knew best and called you home.  Little did we know all those years ago… what we created would bring a wonderful son who would then create the most loving giving families that keeps growing..  quite a legacy for the both of us.  While we went in different directions I will be eternally grateful for the unbreakable bond and the friendship we were eventually to find…. Love snd kisses Brett .  Say hello to to mom nanny and pappy.  Till we meet again………
While you will be dearly missed by many, the pain of your passing is eased by the knowledge that you are with Mom, Nannie, Pappy, and all of our family that passed before you.    Isaiah 57:11-2  "The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death."  Your sister, Dawn
