Brendon's obituary

Brendon Samuel Garrett Hall, 28, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021, in Parkersburg, WV.

Garrett was born in 1993 in Nuremberg, Germany, where his father was stationed while serving in the U.S. Army. He was a shy, sweet child who made friends easily when the family moved to Colorado. Springs, CO; Hamilton, OH; Starke, FL; and finally, Martinsburg, WV, home to his mother’s family.

Garrett loved football and when he was young played for the Colts in the Berkeley County Youth Football League. He enjoyed the “Harry Potter” book series and John Grisham novels, had eclectic taste in music, was interested in boxing, and had a heart for animals and children. He learned how to cut hair and often was the
barber for his friends. Garrett worked different jobs in the construction field and most recently worked for Wincore Windows and Doors in Parkersburg.

After attending Hedgesville High School, Garrett eventually made his way to Parkersburg, WV, where he met Kayleigh Armentrout and her son Hendrix. They became involved in the Twelve Step Fellowship community and The Cross Church. In September 2020 Garrett’s greatest joy in life, daughter Arabella, was born. A fair-haired blonde like her daddy, Arabella brought out the best in Garrett. He was a very loving and attentive father not only to Arabella but also to Hendrix, age 3, whose nickname for Garrett was “Garr-bear.”

Growing up, Garrett’s best friend, confidant, and fiercest defender was his big sister Hayley. Even when Hayley joined the U.S. Air Force and travelled the world, the bond they shared was unbreakable. Whatever challenge he faced, Hayley had his back. She was the last person on this earth to hear Garrett’s voice before he died.

Garrett is survived by his daughter Arabella; mother Becky (Kramer) Hall of Martinsburg, WV; father John Samuel Hall of Hamilton, OH; sister Hayley (Hall) Slemmer of Las Vegas, NV; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also leaves behind his most loyal canine companion, King.

The family will host a Celebration of Life in Garrett’s memory on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at the Barn at Poor House Farm Park, Almshouse Road, Martinsburg, WV. An open-house style reception will be held from 2:00 – 4:30 pm followed by a commemorative service at 4:30 pm with speakers Rev. Daniel Wright (retired) and Wess Dilley, Elder at Rock Spring Church. During this service guests will be encouraged to share their personal memories of Garrett. Please feel free to wear your favorite college football apparel or the orange and royal blue colors of the Florida Gators, of which Garrett was a devoted fan.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider sponsoring a child to participate in youth league football or cheerleading by donating to the Eastern Panhandle Youth Football League, Attention: Doug Arndt, 172 Cambrian Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403, with the notation “Garrett Hall Memorial.”
