Brenda Dean Hockersmith January 21, 1940 – August 29, 2025
Brenda Dean Hockersmith, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and family. Brenda was a faithful woman and had a deep love of the gospel.
Brenda was born on January 21, 1940, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Wayne and Nola Hansen. She was raised in Newdale, Idaho, where she grew up alongside her siblings: VaNoy Hansen, Que Hansen, Loretta Hansen Steele, Brett Hansen, and Chris Hansen Peterson. Brenda graduated from Sugar Salem High School in 1958.
In the summer of 1958, Brenda met the love of her life, Kenneth Lloyd Hockersmith, in Bakersfield, California. They were married on March 21, 1959, in Burbank, California. Together, they made their home in Sanger, California, where they raised their family and built a life full of cherished memories.
Brenda was a devoted mother to her children: Steven Dale Hockersmith, Kevin Wesley Hockersmith, Kelli Dean Coffman, and Kenneth Wayne Hockersmith. Her love extended to her grandchildren, with 20 grandkids and 20 great-grandchildren who brought joy and pride to her life.
She is survived by her brothers Que Hansen (Linda) and Brett Hansen (Debra), and her sister Chris (Weldon). She is also remembered lovingly by her children Kevin (Becky), Kenny (Denise), and Kelli (Brad).
Brenda was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Lloyd Hockersmith, her parents Wayne and Nola Hansen, her brother VaNoy Hansen, her sister Loretta Hansen Steele, and her beloved son Steven Dale Hockersmith.
Brenda will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her warm heart, unwavering strength, and deep love for her family will be remembered always.
