Brenda's obituary
Brenda Franks was born on August 6,1949, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and passed away peacefully on January 7, 2022, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Brenda earned her degree at Tulsa University, where she met her future husband, James Franks, on a blind date. She then earned her law degree at Oklahoma University. After launching her career as an attorney for the FDIC, she and Jim started a family and adopted their two daughters, Loren and Kellen.
Brenda loved to garden (especially roses), was a formidable crocheter, loved music, and had a passion for travel. She thrived in her demanding, rewarding professional life. But above all else, Brenda loved, supported, and prioritized her family. She especially delighted in attending her daughters' countless dance competitions and recitals.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Jim, and her two daughters, Loren and Kellen. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to AJK Family Rescue, a non-profit dog rescue group in Austin, Texas. Brenda had a huge heart for animals and rescued many cats and dogs throughout her life, and it was at AJK that they welcomed one of their furry friends, Dolly, to the family.
