I first met Senator Harimoto as Lion Breene through Pearl City HS Leo Club, and I saw him at all our Pearl City community events - PCCA Chicken Sale, Momilani Community Center's Halloween Bash, not to mention all our Pearl City Lions Club events. Always working hard to make sure everything was a success, but never for the spotlight. It really was for the sake for service to others - as the Lions say, We Serve. He truly embodied those principles and led by example in all he did, with no job being too small or beneath him. Thank you for being a role model for all our Pearl City community, and for your lifelong spirit of generosity, kindness, and service. You will be missed, Lion Breene.

It’s almost hard to believe that it was almost a decade when I first met this amazing man, back when I was a high school student walking into Honolulu Hale as an intern. Breene was one of the first to truly believe that I could be more than what I had thought of myself at the time; to be a faithful, compassionate, and good-hearted leader, just as he undoubtedly was. Hawai’i has lost an advocate for good. My life wouldn’t have been the same without him; my heart aches and feel as if I have lost a father, but I will dutifully carry on his legacy to leave a positive change in the world. Rest In Peace, Breene.

I never met him but saw him at an event held at the rotunda. He quietly was present in support. There were no other politicians present.
Of what I have seen and heard of his dedication for helping the people, he was exceptional, one in a million. We all want to walk the talk but most fall short but not him.
It was truly a life well lived.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." Into His hands.
Prayers of love and support to his ohana.
My condolences and fondest Aloha to the ohana and friends of the late Senator Breene Harimoto. I will miss his smile and his appreciation for the great work he did for all of us.

Aloha 'oe Senator Harimoto. Until we meet again.
I was never very involved in the world of politics. But, I am a resident of Pearl City and a graduate of PCHS. All I really knew was how much Senator Harimoto cared for his community. Many may not know this, but the PCHS bowling team (boys and girls) held the OIA West, OIA, and State championships for 7 and 5 straight years respectively. Senator Harimoto was one of the few who took it upon himself to congratulate and recognize us for our achievements I believe during the 4th year we held that distinction. And for that, I could never offer enough gratitude for what he has done for us and our community. Thank you Senator Harimoto for all that you've done, you will be missed.
Will miss you, Breene. We've known each other since 11th grade at Waipahu High school. I was a struggling C- average student in chemistry class. You sat behind me, you were such a humble person to befriend me then, didn't flaunt how bright and intelligient you were. Just the humble guy you've always been. Our friendship continued through college at UH. We complained about traffic back then as we carpooled together to UH. Who knew you would have a hand later in fixing traffic now! After college, I had the privilege of being the emcee at your wedding, what an honor! You remember when Cheryl threw the bouquet and it got stuck on the hotel chandelier? Hotel maintenance brought out a ladder to get it, gave me a lot of ad lib material as emcee . It was the first time I spoke in public in such a grand scale, thanks for getting me out of my comfort zone.
So much to say and thank you for. We last saw each other at Zippy's a few years ago and then I visited you at your house. Sorry, I didn't see you most recently, yet you managed to text me how you were.
Until we meet again - God Bless -
Dave Quevedo

Mahalo nui Senator Harimoto for your steadfast service to the people of Pearl City. As many residents know, you can often see the Pearl City High School stadium lights shining down on the community from late night marching band practices and football games. "The light at the top of the hill" is akin to the beacon of light that your leadership brought to the Pearl City community. I've had the honor of benefitting from your work as a Pearl City High School graduate, and I hope that your Ohana may be comforted in the lives that you have touched, inspired, and lifted up during your life.
