I’m not sure how I missed hearing this news but I stumbled across it today when I got a memory on Facebook from a conversation I had with Bre-Ann back in 2012.
I was Bre’s biology teacher at Katy High School, and while that was so long ago, Bre-Ann made a lasting impact and memory that I will always hold dear. She was one of my favorite students, silly yet kind to everyone. I think she learned to love science in my class. :-) I loved watching her grow up to be an amazing mother and was thrilled to see her marry the man of her dreams.
The profound loss of such a wonderful human will leave huge holes in so many hearts. Please take a little comfort in knowing how fondly she was thought of by one of her teachers from over 15 years ago.
With deep sorrow, Coach Dugas (now Hood)

You were beautiful, bright, generous, talented, and funny. You were so many things, but the one I will always remember is your love of being a mother. You taught me to cook the only things I can cook well… the only things my girls request. You were compassionate, when all my patience was gone, you still exuded warmth and kindness as if you would never run out. Lastly, after I had my hysterectomy, I was sad for years because I wanted more children and I will never forget the day you so genuinely and graciously offered to be my surrogate if I decided to have another baby. Your generosity of spirit was endless. We will be worse off without your sunny disposition and your special brand of wit that made you uniquely you. You will be missed for the rest of our days. Life just isn’t fair. My heart is broken. I love you kiddo.

Bre, I was so fortunate to know you and get to know you over the years. Your smile and laughter literally lit up the room. Your memory will live on through your beautiful children and Steven. Fly high and we will see you on the other side.
